We (including three ROTC students) read and discussed how (quoting from my class description) \u201cKing\u2019s \u2018Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence\u2019 \u2013 as Relevant Today as Ever\u2019\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.peacefulways.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190124_153239289-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-1135\" title=\"img_20190124_153239289-1\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.peacefulways.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190124_153239289-11-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>challenges us through his linkage of \u201cthe giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism.\u201d Delivered exactly one year before his death, this speech is as timely today as it was then. As we consider what he said at Riverside, it may help us understand why at the time of his assassination King was the most hated man in America.
