{"id":27,"date":"2006-12-20T21:22:49","date_gmt":"2006-12-21T02:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.peacefulways.com\/?p=27"},"modified":"2008-06-18T19:44:47","modified_gmt":"2008-06-19T00:44:47","slug":"musical-interlude-too-late-for-our-october-8-quaker-wedding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.peacefulways.com\/?p=27","title":{"rendered":"Musical interlude: Too late for our October 8 Quaker wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Quaker\u00a0Meeting for Marriage\u00a0was unusual in a number of ways, even for a Quaker marriage (ask me about it).\u00a0 One idea came too late for incorporation into the Meeting ceremony.\u00a0 At the start of Meeting (there was no wedding march) I\u00a0spoke about\u00a0how\u00a0I first\u00a0met Fran on\u00a0the proverbial &#8220;dark and stormy night&#8221; in the woods, and how that set in motion the most significant change in my life.\u00a0\u00a0 After a pause for reflection, Chopin&#8217;s Revolution Etude bursts forth from our Meeting&#8217;s fine old grand piano. If you&#8217;re familiar with the piece (very difficult to play), you can image jaws dropping.\u00a0 But, musically, it perfectly reflects\u00a0our first meeting.\u00a0 Well, I wasn&#8217;t able to set it up in time with Curtis, but I still smile to think of it.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t hear THAT very often at a wedding.\u00a0 But there&#8217;s still a chance, at\u00a0the 10th anniversary repetition of our vows.
