{"id":6,"date":"2006-12-20T22:10:14","date_gmt":"2006-12-21T03:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.peacefulways.com\/?p=6"},"modified":"2011-01-27T12:41:49","modified_gmt":"2011-01-27T17:41:49","slug":"what-is-the-meaning-of-marriage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.peacefulways.com\/?p=6","title":{"rendered":"What is the meaning of marriage?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is my\u00a0letter\u00a0published in\u00a0the August 2005 issue of <em>Friends Journal:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I found your recent material on marriage to be particuarly relevant for me.\u00a0 I am getting married this fall under the care of Lansdowne (PA) Meeting, and\u00a0this has sent me on a journey to consider the spiritual meaning of marriage and its relationship (if any) to the state&#8217;s concept of marriage (defined strictly as a legal contract).\u00a0 I had intended to be married under the care of the meeting but to not apply for a license, and then ask to have the marriage recognized by Pennsylvania.
