I\u2019d be okay to name buildings and academic chairs after truly exceptional people, as role models. But giving a large sum of money does not put you in that category, even when you are a very nice person<!--more--> and love your family and the institution and tax write-offs. Why do we fawn over wealthy donors and make them out to be saints? Have non-profits lost their integrity? May be.
