Big Brother is watching you

“If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.”  I don’t hide and will speak outright. When the rich and powerful spy on the rest of us, they have the information to squash any truths that might diminish their power. And it’s happening now. The truth is, those of us who have nothing to hide have much to fear.

  1. I’m thinking how here, once again, I may appear to be hating the rich and powerful, when in truth, some of my good friends are in that category. There are all types of people at all economic levels. I don’t really hate anybody, but I do hate what many wealthy and powerful people do with their wealth and power. I certainly do not envy the rich and powerful, but believe that their wealth and power does not really do them any good or provide the comfort that they seek. But they just can’t imagine things any other way that would be safe for them and the world.

  2. A couple of my Comments on Facebook posts glorifying today — Veterans’ Day:

Your (military) picture reminds me of visiting family friends in Berlin in the 60’s. On the bedside table of a 40ish woman, a picture of a handsome young man that might have been her son, in his military uniform. Only closer inspection revealed the insignia from WWII – her young man when she herself was that young. The family never voted for Hitler and were drafted into service as so many folks were in WWII. So sad for all.

(Re cartoon depicting a wheelchair veteran and an obstinate sitting child.)Although I stand respectfully for anyone’s national anthem or pledge, I do not sing the anthem or salute the flag or say the pledge. I do this as part of my defending freedom for all, including the veteran pictured in the wheelchair. I am certainly grateful that I don’t get shot for this, and it is always open to discussion about what approach may eventually offer the most promise for a peaceful world.
