Do old people get “X” rated?

The average duration for sex is said to be about twenty minutes.  You might think that was reasonable. But wait. Most recently, Fran and I leaped naked into bed and commenced an hour of foreplay, consisting of a vigorous discussion/debate about religion and belief (I will spare you the details).   Somehow the “twenty minutes” followed, with that followed immediately by the afterglow (is there a post term comparable to foreplay?)  – a half hour of continued discussion/debate about religion. So how do you count it for us — two hours? Guess we should consider ourselves lucky at this age to have both sound mind and sound body (sort of), if we can only keep the two straight.

  2. Dammit, Paul. I may have to write something about sex, just so you can post it over at my little gathering spot…

But I don’t understand your title. (And by the way, you and Fran are my heroes. And I don’t think any of us should feel like we need to time our exploits – just enjoy them… )

  3. @BLW. Sex for young people is pretty much accepted nowadays, hardly needing an “X”. But sex for us old folks is still sometimes seen as not quite acceptable. In which case, is “X” an appropriate warning?

Or, from another perspective, does our tendency to talk perhaps move us out of the traditional “X” category?

Or perhaps it’s not “X” because there’s nothing here like “He drove his red hot rod down her milky way.” Punctuation makes all the difference, and punctuation is mostly an old-persons’ concern.

  4. I just popped by to see what was up, and note your response to my response.

Really Paul. You need to post more often. On any topic you like – and the more the assortment of Letter-based generations see that those with a few more years on them are still kicking – in all ways – the better.

    X marks the spot.
